2’s Review: ‘Nana Does Vegas’ at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre
Nana is back on the Off-Broadway stage at Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Fort Myers. This time she is making costumes for one of the biggest shows on the Vegas strip. But she gets a little more than she gambled for after taking a chance at love.
This hilarious romp features actress Dianne Stone Fussaro ( DianneStoneFussar.com ) who as always is convincing in her role of Nana.
Her sidekick Vera played by actress Lynn Grace keeps the show moving in her Estelle Getty’s type character Sophia from the Golden Girls. The wisecracks roll after Vera decides to do a little illegal gambling in the hotel and stealing customers from Nana’s new Italian lover Dino Marino, who manages the casino, played by seasoned actor Rob Summers.
Nana, who is designing costumes for a new show, invites her granddaughter Vera, played by actress Lynn Grace, for a visit before she is set to be married to her bizarre boyfriend Tom O’Grady who plays an NYPD officer turned FBI agent to investigate the casino.
O’Grady, played by actor Ken Quiricone, pulls off the roll with a lot of physical comedy that he has mastered on stage which allows it to lend to the laughter.
If you enjoyed Nana’s Naughty Knickers you’re sure to like this fast-paced sequel that leads from one crazy scene to the next before coming to a happy ending for all.
The show runs through April 25th so there is still plenty of time to call the box office (239)-278-4422 and get your seats while they last.
The theater has scaled back seating and is operating at only 50% capacity with all seats socially distanced as the actors continue wearing face shields which are almost unnoticeable until there is an awkward kissing scene.
Let’s hope that theater is close to operating safely without them very soon.
