40,000 pounds of beer spilled on I-85 in multi-car crash

TROUP COUNTY, Ga. [WXIA] – A lot of Bud Light was wasted in an I-85 crash on Sunday — 40,000 pounds to be exact.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. near Greenville Road in Georgia and involved two tractor-trailers, a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle, according to the Georgia Department of Public Safety [DPS]

During the crash, a tractor-trailer carrying beer overturned and spilled booze across the northbound lanes. The road was blocked for hours as crews cleaned up the lost brewskis.

The road finally cleared by 11 p.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The Georgia State Patrol reported one injury in the crash. That person was taken to an area hospital for treatment, though their condition has not been released.

The crash is under investigation.
