Child flown to hospital after North Port crash

NORTH PORT, Fla. – A child is seriously injured after a crash on Cranberry Boulevard in North Port, officials said.

The child is being flown to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment, according to the North Port Police Department.

North Cranberry Boulevard is shut down in both directions. The traffic unit is on scene investigating the crash, police said.

The exact age of the child and the cause of the crash have not been released yet.
