Firefighters rescue ducklings from Lehigh Acres storm drain

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A group of ducklings following their mother accidentally slid down a storm drain in Lehigh Acres on Wednesday.

Fire crews with the Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District responded to Rowland Drive in Lehigh Acres after reports of ducklings in distress.

When they arrived, firefighters lifted the storm drain lid and jumped in to help reunite the ducklings with their mother.

The baby ducks tried to challenge the rescue crew by hiding in a pipe under the road, but firefighters were able to flush the animals out and bring them to safety.
