Forecast: Dry & breezy Easter ahead

An elevated risk for wildfires exists Sunday as humidity values remain low and wind speeds stay high.

Another day of breezy weather is expected across SWFL for Easter Sunday with slightly warmer temperatures. Highs should approach 80 for most areas, lending to another below normal day.

By Monday, wind will start to relax and temperatures will recover back to the 80s everywhere with mainly sunny conditions. The drop in wind and a slight increase in humidity should help lessen the fire risk getting into the upcoming week.

That said, no rain is expected until maybe the end of the week, exacerbating dry conditions. Overall, the drought remains in the lowest category, but that will likely change through the coming month if rain chances stay low.

Temperatures climb into the mid-80s by midweek, with a potential front possible by next weekend.
