Forecast: Hot & sunny to end the week
Temperatures continue to climb ahead of the weekend.
High pressure remains the dominant force in our weather, for now. By Saturday humidity will start to build across the area ahead of trough digging through the Southeast. As this feature approaches, high pressure over the Bahamas will slide east, leading to a subtle pattern shift for the end of the weekend.
Saturday will feature sunshine and highs near 90 with increasing humidity. For Sunday, showers and storms will accompany the aforementioned system, although significant rain seems unlikely.
Model guidance keeps the heaviest and most widespread activity north of the area, so little drought relief is expected from this system. Temperatures Sunday will top out in the mid-80s thanks to some added cloud coverage and shower chances.
Showers may linger through Tuesday before drier air pushes in for the second half of next week. Temperatures will rebound into the upper 80s for next week as well.
