Forecast: Pleasant but breezy Easter
Happy Easter to those celebrating today!
This morning is again starting on the cool side, but not nearly as chilly as yesterday morning! This morning a few upper 40s are possible for places like Arcadia and Immokalee, but most of us will stay in the middle 50s. You may still need a light jacket, but our winds are also slightly calmer, so not only are temperatures actually warmer compared to yesterday, it feels warmer as well. This is great news if you’re heading out to an early sunrise service!
Brunch plans, lunch plans, and any Easter egg hunts will be met with beautiful weather by late morning and into the afternoon. Once the sun rises temperatures will start to warm nicely. By lunchtime we’re in the middle 70s, with afternoon highs flirting with 80 degrees. Pair that with partly cloudy skies and low humidity, it will be a picturesque and pleasant Easter afternoon. We are keeping the Fire Alert posted today due to the high risk of fires in Lee and Charlotte county, but the good news is winds aren’t going to be as strong as yesterday. It will still be breezy, and you should still use extreme caution with any open flame today.
Temperatures will be back into the 80s for much of the week ahead with the humidity gradually increasing ahead of our next cold front. This front right now looks to arrive sometime this weekend. Temperatures ahead of it could flirt with 90 degrees, which brings plenty of energy for rain and storms as the front slides south. It is not expected to be a strong front, but in addition to the chances for rain, humidity should drop to more comfortable levels by the start of next week. As this front is still developing, keep up with your First Alert Forecast as we finetune the details. In the meantime, you will likely have to run the sprinklers to water your lawn as we don’t foresee significant chances for rain over the next week.
