Motorcyclist seriously injured in Lee Boulevard crash

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A 37-year-old Lehigh Acres man was seriously injured in a crash on Lee Boulevard on Wednesday night, officials said.

Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the motorcycle crash on Lee Boulevard, west of Gunnery Road, around 7:30 p.m.

Shortly before the crash, the biker started to slow so an emergency vehicle could pass through the intersection. A 21-year-old Fort Myers woman didn’t brake and slammed into the back of the motorcyclist, troopers said.

The biker was not wearing a helmet and was rushed to Lee Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
