Naples man dies, multiple injured in Collier County ATV crash

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A Naples man is dead and multiple are injured after an ATV crash on Oil Well Road in Collier County late Friday evening.

The 28-year-old Naples man was driving the ATV when the crash happened, according to Florida Highway Patrol. A 21-year-old New Hampshire man, who was a passenger in the ATV, was also seriously injured in the crash.

Four other people that were also in the ATV had minor injuries from the crash, troopers said.

The ATV was going east on the north grassy shoulder of Oil Well Road, east of Everglades Boulevard. FHP said the ATV was approaching a raised driveway and went airborne.

Everyone was thrown from the ATV once it flipped after hitting the driveway, according to troopers. The Naples man was pronounced dead on scene and the passengers were taken to a local hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
