INDIANAPOLIS / CNN — At least eight people were killed in a mass shooting that happened at an Indianapolis FedEx facility on Thursday night, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Genae Cook said. Many other people were taken to local hospitals with injuries, one of whom was in critical condition, Cook said during a media briefing on Friday. RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Police in Florida are searching for the person who shot into an apartment and killed a 7-year-old boy who was sleeping inside. The boy’s 28-year-old mother was injured in the shooting which happened early Wednesday, Riviera Beach police said during a news conference. Police Chief Nathan Osgood said the shooting was targeted, but it was unclear if the shooter knew there were children inside the apartment. FORT MYERS, Fla. — Officers with the Fort Myers Police Department are investigating a shooting at 2909 Blount Street in Fort Myers. One female was injured in the shooting, a spokesperson with FMPD said. Officers said they don’t have a suspect in custody, but they do have some leads. Police search for Cape Coral construction site thief

CAPE CORAL, Fla. – Between April 10 and April 12, 40 sheets of plywood went missing from a Cape Coral construction site, according to SWFL Crime Stoppers. An employee was driving by the construction site on NW 4th Place and saw a suspicious person driving an older white Chevrolet 3500 pickup with a red hood, officials said. Deputies search for Lee County man who threatened woman with her own gun

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies are searching for a Lee County man who was found guilty of aggravated assault and grand theft of a firearm. Timothy Settles, 25, is wanted for violation of community control in these crimes, according to SWFL Crime Stoppers. Settles threatened a woman with her own gun during a domestic violence incident in April of 2020, according to court documents.
