Cape Coral teen killed in a car crash while traveling to college

CAPE CORAL, Fla.– A Cape Coral teen is dead after a car crash on Wednesday. The family of Timothy “TJ” Rucker said the teen was traveling to Georgia where he was going to attend college. His loved ones are currently working to raise money to return his body to Lee County. On Saturday, more than $25,000 was raised on a GoFundMe account. TJ’s family said they still need around $5,000 to cover expenses. A fundraising event is scheduled for 5:30 PM on Saturday at Bowland Cape Coral. TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — A 3-year-old boy was hit and killed by a pickup truck while walking across a Florida pier, authorities said Sunday. The boy was behind a parked car on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge Fishing Pier, and started walking toward his family across the northbound lanes of the pier on Saturday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. One person dead in LaBelle dump truck crash

LABELLE, Fla. – One person died in a three-car crash in LaBelle on Friday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said a dump truck was involved in the crash that happened on SR-29 and Industrial Loop. Both sides of SR-29 are completely shut down, the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office reported. Deputies said they don’t know how long the road will be closed. Traffic is being directed through Helms Road. Troopers have not released which driver died in the crash. Pedestrian dies in North Fort Myers crash

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — One pedestrian died after they were hit by a car in North Fort Myers early Friday morning, deputies said. Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene on Orange Grove Boulevard near Saint Clair Avenue West after 5 a.m. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol are also on scene and said the pedestrian involved in the crash died.
