FWC rescues sick manatee from Captiva waters

CAPTIVA ISLAND, Fla. — Wildlife officials rescued a manatee that looked to be suffering from the effects of red tide off on Captiva Island on Wednesday. Someone reported the sick manatee in Captiva to officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission on Wednesday morning. A group of wildlife officials and volunteers arrived at the scene to find out what was wrong with the animal.
