Forecast: More heat and storms into the weekend

Your Friday forecast looks great this morning with temps in the upper 70s and generally clear skies.  We’ll track the chance for a few tiny coastal showers through the morning, and more storms will pop up this afternoon.  Storms will build west to east again today, so our inland areas will see the highest rain chances late in the afternoon.  A few isolated storms could still build back toward the coast this evening, so keep an eye on the NBC2 First Alert LIVE Doppler Radar if you’re heading out.  Temperatures will be toasty today with highs on track to reach the low to...

Forecast: Unsettled end to the week

Showers and storms will become more likely through Friday. As the remnants of Ida moves through the Northeast, a trailing batch of storms will drag south through Central Florida and slowly move through our area for the end of the week. This means more clouds and storm chances for the first few days of September. The good news is the added cloud coverage should keep temperatures just below normal in the mid to upper 80s. By the holiday weekend, weather should improve and become more seasonable with afternoon storms and highs in the low 90s. By next week, south winds will prevail,...

Forecast: One more round of rain Wednesday morning

We’ve got one more round of rain in store this Wednesday morning before our weather begins to quiet down and dry out.  We’ll track showers and even some heavier downpours developing throughout the morning, moving from west to east toward our coast.  Expect mainly cloudy skies this morning with off-and-on rain and temperatures staying fairly warm in the upper 70s to lower 80s.  This afternoon, the rain will finally start to push south of our area, allowing for increasing sunshine and temperatures peaking near 85 degrees.  Our reward for our three-day stretch of unsettled...

Forecast: periods of rain and storms Tuesday

We’re on track to see another busy weather day featuring off-and-on rain and storms thanks to a stalled front hanging over Southwest Florida.  The front will act to focus numerous areas of showers and storms at times through the day, and the potential is also there for a few strong storms to develop.  The NBC2 First Alert Storm Team has issued a SEVERE WEATHER FIRST ALERT today due to the potential for a few of these stronger storms.  We’ll start off the early-morning hours with generally quiet weather along the coast with most of the action happening deep inland near...

Forecast: Rounds of rain and storms this week

Make sure you leave with your umbrella today! We’re in store for a pretty major shift in our weather pattern this week as we track a cold front sagging into our area, triggering rounds of rain and storms over the next three days.  This morning we’re monitoring a large band of rain and storms northwest of our area that will slowly drift into Southwest Florida from mid-morning through the afternoon. Some pockets of heavy rain and storms will be possible at times throughout the day, and a few of these storms will be capable of producing lightning as well as gusty winds above...

Forecast: Another warm, humid day with rain for this week

It was a very Florida Saturday; warm, humid, and a little breezy! Your Sunday is going to be very similar with patchy fog this morning, but increasing clouds by the end of the day. High temperatures will again climb into the middle and upper 80s. Rain chances today are very low, but not non-existent, but shouldn’t be cause for concern. Get out and enjoy your Sunday, because rain chances increase for the first part of this week. A cold front remains stalled out to our north, keeping off and on chances for rain in the forecast starting tomorrow morning through Wednesday. No...

Forecast: Some patchy morning fog, then mild this afternoon

Southwest Florida’s inland communities will have the opportunity for some fog this morning becoming most dense around the sunrise hour.  Within an hour or two of the sun coming up fog that is able to develop this morning should mix out of the atmosphere and give way to a mostly sunny sky.   Temperatures today will be mild and seasonable, peaking in the mid-80s.   This weekend, a frontal boundary will be stalled to the north of our part of Florida. This will keep the best rain chances north of where we are and keep temperatures warm.  Both Saturday and Sunday will see mid-day...

Forecast: Seasonable this afternoon

Generally, calm weather conditions are expected across Southwest Florida this afternoon. Along with this, we’ll see seasonable temperatures for mid-April peaking in the mid-80s after lunchtime.   Rain opportunities are low to none today, as the nearest rain to us will stay in North Florida. That’s because a front is stalling out in that part of the state meaning we stay under the influence of southeast winds keeping temperatures warm and humidity somewhat noticeable.   Tonight, overnight numbers will fall into the upper 60s leading to some areas of morning fog on Friday. Any...

Forecast: Warm this afternoon

Southwest Florida will continue seeing warmer than average weather for late April today as afternoon highs touch the upper 80s.  Rain opportunities will be low today, again trending less than 20%, as sky conditions range between partly and mostly sunny.  Tonight, overall quiet weather can be expected. Overnight temperatures will fall into the middle 60s under a mostly clear sky.  On Thursday and Friday the breeze is expected to become more noticeable as temperatures continue topping out in the mid and upper 80s. This will extend into the upcoming weekend before...
