Homeless Army veteran saved a man from burning car
PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP)– A homeless Army veteran saved a man when his car caught on fire in Florida’s Panhandle.
The car caught on fire after a head-on collision on I-10 near Pensacola on April 7. Freddie Finkley, 56, was standing near an intersection with his girlfriend when they saw the crash.
Finkley pulled Eric Lopez, 34, from the car as flames started to come through the dashboard.
“Anybody that helps out another person — especially in this case where it could have or did save a life — we certainly appreciate that,” said Pensacola Police Department spokesman Officer Mike Wood.
