Panther killed by car on I-75 in Lee County

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – A Florida panther was killed by a car in Lee County, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The 1-year-old female was the ninth panther to be killed in a vehicle collision this year out of 14 total deaths, FWC reports. Wildlife officials found her remains on April 12 after a car hit her on I-75 near Daniels Parkway. FWC estimates there are only 120-230 adult panthers in the population, making them extremely endangered. The post Panther killed by car on I-75 in Lee County appeared first on NBC2 News.
