Instagram to let users filter out abusive messages

Instagram is launching new tools that allow users to filter abusive direct messages. The filter looks for certain words, phrases and even emojis that indicate abusive content, the social media company said. The list of abusive content is compiled by Facebook, Instagram’s parent company, which is used to filter through DM requests, but users are allowed to add their own words to it. The new tool set was designed to also make it more difficult for previously blocked people to contact users again using a new account. Firefighters rescue ducklings from Lehigh Acres storm drain

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A group of ducklings following their mother accidentally slid down a storm drain in Lehigh Acres on Wednesday. Fire crews with the Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District responded to Rowland Drive in Lehigh Acres after reports of ducklings in distress. When they arrived, firefighters lifted the storm drain lid and jumped in to help reunite the ducklings with their mother. The baby ducks tried to challenge the rescue crew by hiding in a pipe under the road, but firefighters were able to flush the animals out and bring them to safety. DOJ to investigate Minneapolis policing practices after ex-officer convicted of murder

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the Department of Justice’s investigation into Minneapolis’ policing policies, DOJ officials said. Oregon creamery fire prompts local evacuations

MCMINNVILLE, Oregon / CNN — A three-alarm fire at the Organic Valley Creamery in Oregon triggered evacuations on Tuesday. McMinnville Fire Department responded to the fire at the creamery located at 700 Northeast Highway 99W just before 1:30 p.m., KPTV reported. MMFD asked for residents within a ¼ to 1/2 a mile radius from the fire site to evacuate due to ammonia inside the creamery. Evacuation orders have since been lifted.
