Troopers investigate hit & run crash that injured four people

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. – Four people were injured in a hit-and-run crash on I-75 in Charlotte County Friday evening.

Florida Highway Patrol confirmed they are looking for the four door black sedan that drove off after the crash.

Two passengers, a 41-year-old North Port man and 17-year-old North Port boy, in the SUV still on scene were seriously injured, according to troopers. The driver and another passenger of the SUV had minor injuries.

The black sedan was driving south on I-75 in the center lane, south of Kings Highway while the SUV was driving in the inside lane, troopers said. The sedan veered into the SUV’s lane and hit the front of it.

The SUV slammed into a guardrail and flipped, and the sedan drove off.
